Studdy Buddy — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Studdy Buddy ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Description of Service

Studdy Buddy is a free educational mobile application that provides:

• Study session tracking with Pomodoro timer
• Social features for finding and matching with study partners
• AI-powered study coaching and personalized insights
• Practice question banks for exam preparation
• Real-time messaging between matched study partners

3. Account Registration

• You must provide a valid phone number to create an account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
• Users aged 16 and under are automatically classified as minors and are partitioned from adult users in all social features.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You may not create multiple accounts or share your account with others.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or promotional content
• Share inappropriate, offensive, or sexually explicit content
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the App
• Exploit or abuse the AI coaching features

5. Content Ownership

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create (messages, photos, bio text). By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Our Content

The App, its design, features, AI-generated insights, practice questions, and all intellectual property belong to Studdy Buddy. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the App.

6. AI-Generated Content

The AI coaching features provide study recommendations and insights based on your data. These are suggestions only and should not be considered professional educational advice.

We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content. Use your own judgment when following AI recommendations.

7. Matching & Social Features

• Matches expire after a set period if no interaction occurs.
• You may block or report any user at any time.
• We reserve the right to remove any user who violates these Terms.
• We do not guarantee finding study partners in your area.

8. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and protect your data.

9. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in abusive or harmful behavior
• Are reported by multiple users
• Attempt to circumvent our safety measures

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings screen. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Accuracy of AI-generated study recommendations
• Availability of study partners in your area
• That the App will meet your specific study requirements

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studdy Buddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, exam results, or academic outcomes.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Turkey.
